Why Back-to-School is a Challenge for Many

For many families we serve, even the basics—school uniforms, notebooks, pens, lunch money—are luxuries. Children often miss school, not because they lack the will to learn, but because they lack the means.

Some of the most common barriers include:

• Inability to pay school fees
• Lack of school supplies and uniforms
• Need to work to support the household
• Mental trauma or displacement due to conflict

• Sponsor school fees for children at risk of dropping out
• Provide backpacks filled with school supplies
• Offer tutoring and mentorship programs
• Create safe after-school spaces for learning and growth
• Offer free health meals to kids, each child get tea break and lunch for the whole school term which makes learning easier with a full tummy as many families cannot afford 3 meals a day.

Last term alone, your support helped over 72 children return to school—and stay there. That’s 72 futures re-ignited with potential and purpose.

Daniel’s Journey

Daniel, a bright 13-year-old refugee, had been out of school for over a year. His mother couldn’t afford school fees, and he began working odd jobs to help at home. Through our Education Support Program, Daniel received a full scholarship, school materials, and access to mentoring.

Today, he’s back in class, thriving, and dreaming of becoming a teacher.

“I never thought I’d return to school. Now, I want to help others learn too,” he says with a smile.
