Program Coordinator

Charles is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of all programs and services. This individual ensures the effective delivery of projects, including education support, after-school tutoring, and youth empowerment initiatives.

Charles is a highly experienced Program Coordinator and a respected refugee leader in Kitengela, with six years of successful leadership in coordinating community-based programs. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Marketing from the University of Kigali, Rwanda, and possesses a strong background in accounting, where he is recognized for his exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills. This combination of expertise in both marketing and finance enables Charles to approach program coordination with a strategic, results-driven mindset, ensuring the efficient use of resources and the achievement of program objectives.Charles has demonstrated exceptional ability in working with diverse teams to deliver effective solutions, while also developing clear policies for program implementation and establishing robust internal controls.

Charles values the learning culture at Raising Hope Centre, which fosters an environment of mutual learning and the exchange of best practices. He appreciates the organization’s flexibility, which allows him to act swiftly and effectively when responding to urgent cases that require immediate attention.

Beyond his academic qualifications in social sciences and business studies, Charles has completed specialized training with GIZ CPS in community mapping and context analysis, equipping him with a deep understanding of community dynamics and the ability to address pressing needs. His additional training with DRC in Engaging Men in Accountable Practice (EMAP) has focused on reducing violence against women and girls, while his certification from Kituo cha Sheria in Psychological First Aid (PFA) and mental health coping mechanisms has further strengthened his ability to support individuals in distress and implement meaningful outreach strategies.

Throughout his career, Charles has successfully engaged with diverse community groups, developed and implemented outreach programs, and collaborated with local organizations to tackle critical social issues. His approach is both empathetic and strategic, ensuring that he comprehensively understands the immediate needs of the community while working towards sustainable, long-term solutions.
